Bio

Michael Casey graduated from Leeds College of Music in 2002 with a BA Hons in Jazz studies and then a PGDip in Jazz and Pop music in 2004. Since then he has been working as a professional musician combining performance and teaching. As a guitarist Michael has played and still is with many touring theatre Shows such as Extremely Dan, The Magic of Motown, A vision of Elvis and Soul Legends. These shows have taken Michael all across the U.K and Europe playing the biggest and best venues to date. Michael was also in the house band for the Gadget Show live where he has performed to over 80,000 people in one week. Alongside, this Michael regularly plays in the Jazz/Pop Eclectic4 group with co founder Matthew smith. 

Since 2006 Michael has been teaching at the prestigious Leeds College of music, teaching subjects such as, Guitar Classes Beginners to Advanced, Music Performance Techniques, Jazz and Pop Improvisation. 

Michael’s teaching style aims at finding an individual’s way of retaining information.  Finding out whether you are a kinesthetic, auditory or a visual learner does this. And through a series of varied yet challenging tasks, Michael guides you through your own learning path of developing knowledge. You might be 1 or 2 of these… or even all three.
